SEWER CONSTRUCTION BEGINS SEPTEMBER 14TH
Construction of the next phase of infrastructure reconstruction will begin in the Village area - sewer repairs and replacements.  In order for you to understand and anticipate the types of inconveniences that this construction could bring over the next few months, we are issuing this notification.

Since gravity sewers are typically the deepest utility in the street, you may experience traffic detours and delays, use of and parking of heavy equipment in streets, dust or mud during varying weather conditions, and unpaved road surfaces for short periods of time.

The first area to be impacted, starting September 14th, will be South Street, from house #10 to house number #20, then up further between Front St. and house #56.  We will require that the entire width of the street in these stretches be vacant of parked vehicles from 6:30 am until 5:00 pm each weekday until the work trench is paved.  Access to driveways will be available most times, except when work is occurring directly in front.  Four your safety, emergency vehicle access (Fire, Police, EMS) will always be attainable to every property within minutes of the crews becoming aware of the need.

Because certain components of the construction cannot be completed at the same time, the same street may be disturbed as many as three times over the entire construction period.  Occasionally, other utilities may be affected such as telephone, cable television, water, or electric services.  When we know in advance that such services will be affected, we will certainly advise residents.  We do not anticipate any disruptions in water service, however, occasional shut-downs of individual houses may occur for a few hours only.  Having bottled water on hand would be advisable.

Every effort will be made by the contractor, Cape Ann Equipment, to promptly restore any utility unexpectedly broken during the construction to minimize the inconvenience of this construction.

We will be available by telephone as soon as our office at 163 Front Street is equipped with service.  You may obtain that information by contacting the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 508-748-3540.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during this important project.
